Details

Kitty’s Gorge is one of the beautiful walks accessible from the historic town of Jarrahdale.  Just an hour’s drive south west of Perth, this is a great day trip for a walk and lunch at the winery or one of the cafes. The Kitty Gorge Walk is a class 4 walk which is steep and slippery in sections, and goes from Goorolong Park, Jarrahdale to or from the Serpentine Falls. the trail is 14km return and approx. 5hours to complete.

Who was Kitty? A cow who wandered away and was found months later down in the gorge! There’s a variety of scenery and terrain on this walk, with superb views from the hilltops above the gorge taking in Serpentine National Park and Darling Range National Park. The walk takes in most of the established Kitty’s Gorge Trail which follows the Serpentine River and Gooralong Brook. Along the way, it passes impressive granite outcrops and the Brook's many waterfalls. It has steep loose sections and uneven ground and requires a degree of fitness. Access is via either the carpark opposite the cemetary in Jarrahdale or from the Falls carpark in the Serpentine National Park. If you are walking from the township of Jarrahdale, then include the short loop of Stacey’s Track.

Admission Prices | Entry fees to Serpentine National Park $13 per vehicle.
