Pinjarra Suspension Bridge

Pinjarra Adventure & Sports

Details

An ideal way to get a bird’s eye view of the lovely Murray river, the bridge is one of Pinjarra's very popular tourist attractions. The riverbanks on either side have seats and picnic/barbecue facilities, so linger after you’ve experienced the bridge crossing!

A pedestrian bridge crossing across the tree lined banks of the the Murray River, the Suspension Bridge was built in 1985. It’s a great feature only a short walk from the centre of Pinjarra in a wonderfully located, quiet picnic area.

After much consultation and lobbying by the Pinjarra community, the bridge was built by the army with materials provided by Alcoa of Australia. The mosaic tile artwork at the bridge captures Aboriginal, pioneer heritage, youth, railway and forestry themes.

The bridge officially opened on Sunday 10 November 1985.
